Assignment #1: Icebreaker Questions

Date: Sep 6, 2007

1) If you could go back in time, who would you choose to meet and what would you ask or do?
If I could go back in time I would probably choose to meet my favorite presedint FDR. I'd love to meet him and see how he came up with the ideas for the New Deal and how he helped the country out of one of its darkest periods.

2) What is the most confusing thought/question you have ever had?
My thougts are pretty basic and if they're confusing I don't tend to remember then later but lately it has been why do ducks float?

3) What is your most prized possession and why?
Ny most prised possesion is my late grandfather's bronze star from world war two. It was left to me in his will and he is my favorite relative and it is one of the only things besindes memories that I have left to remember him by.

4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
My favorite book is The Five People You Meet In Heaven
My favorite movie right now is probably Blades of Glory biggrin

My favorite music artist is probably Chris Daughertry.

    Tough one, I'd have to say Napoleon to witness the battle of Austerlitz or Waterloo, or back to 1969 to witness Led Zeppelin's 1st American Concert

     The most confusing thought(s) i had, happened when my 7th grade literacy teacher and i would get into discussions about the possibility (and impossibility) of time travel. (go figure)

4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
   My favorite book is the last installment of Harry Potter because she put so many intriguing twists in it. My Favorite movie is a toss up between Saving Private Ryan and the Patriot because they are the most realistic depictions of these two events that i have seen on screen. And finally my favorite band would be the Rolling Stones (playing in the 60's not now) just because i grew up listening to their songs w/ my dad.

I would meet Cliff Burton, Metallica's bassist who died in a bus accident. I would probably just want to talk about music with him.

My guitar. It's my favorite hobby, and I truly love playing it.
4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
Favorite Book- the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, or Killing Yourself To Live by Chuck Klosterman.
Favorite Movie- Donnie Darko
Favorite music artist- Tool or Deftones

I would want to go back to when there was powerful royal families. I would want to talk to a real live princess to ask what it's like. When i was little i wanted to be one.

2) What is the most confusing thought/question you have ever had?
Honestly, any question about math confuses me. I don't like math very much!

3) What is your most prized possession and why?
My mom, without her i wouldn't be here to have any possessions. (p.s. she bought most of them!)

4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
I love reading the Harry Potter series and i'm upset that its over. Maybe i'll try reading J.K.'s new book when it comes out. The only movie i can think of is the last one i saw, Rush Hour 3, it was hilarious! I just got Aly and Aj's new cd and that's all i have been listening to lately so them.

i think i would go back to the time of henry VIII. I would want to meet him, and his wives, especially anne bolyn(sp?) to ask if he really was as good as the people of the time thought he was. Also I would like to ask her if she regretted marrying him.

2) What is the most confusing thought/question you have ever had?
i constantly question my religion, and death and life after. and it is really a confusing question because nobody really has the right answer or a concrete answer to what happens after we die. It is a morbid topic, i know.

3) What is your most prized possession and why?
I have a lot of books and movies in my house and they are kind of my prized possessions. They keep me from being bored, and they are entertainment.

4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
My favorite book rite now would have to be Dan Brown's Digital Fortress because it was the one i just finished. i enjoy a lot of movies so i can't really pick just one. And i like disturbed, three days grace, slipknot, etc.

in responce to calisa---math is hard, numbers are so confusing, words are a lot easier to understand aww

If I could go back in time, I would choose to meet my grandmother because she died of cancer before I was born. I would ask her a bunch of questions just to try to get a sense of what she was like as a person.

    Every question is confusing to me during math class.

- Hmmm I think if I could go back in time to meet one person it would probably have to be Benjamin Franklin. I would probably ask him about what kind of things inspired him to do what he did (you know the inventions and all

) and what it was like as a framer of both the DOI and the Constitution and how he felt knowing his life was in danger as one of the framers.

2) What is the most confusing thought/question you have ever had?
- Well one of my friends raised an interesting question once when we were in middle school about why certain words are "bad words". What made them bad, and why isn't a word like "Cookie" a bad word, and who decided it?

3) What is your most prized possession and why?
- Well my cell phone is my life, it has my schedule for EVERYTHING I do and it helps me keep on track.

4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
Book: Any book by Ann Rinaldi, or one of the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" books

Movie: Dodgeball, its hilarious...point-blank

Music Artist: Hmmm thats hard, maybe Maroon 5?? I don't really have a favorite I am open to pretty much anything

hmm thats a tough question i guess i would probably go back and meet kurt angle when he was in the olympics because i wrestle and it would be interesting to meet a true olympic champion

In order to get to know each other better, let's share some answers to the following questions:

1) If you could go back in time, who would you choose to meet and what would you ask or do?
If I could go back in time, I would probably choose to meet my mother's mother. She died way before I was born, but my mom always has stories about her. I would ask her what it was like to by the mother of my mom, and what she did when she was younger.

2) What is the most confusing thought/question you have ever had?
I can't really think of a question that I found confusing right now. But last year in chemistry I didnt understand anything. so probably one of the questions one of the kids in my class asked.

3) What is your most prized possession and why?
my most prized possession is a small box i keep important pieces of paper in. like notes that my dad wrote to me before he passed away.

4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
my favorite book is prep. my favorite movie would have to be the breakfast club, and my favorite music artistic as of right now are the strokes.

oh and in reply to alexa, marilyn monroe sounds like such an interesting person. that was a good answer, i would have liked to meet her too.

   If I could go back in time I would want to meet Elvis. I'd ask him about how he dealt with the lifestyle and how it affected his life.Oh and I'd ask him if he could sing me a song to.

2) What is the most confusing thought/question you have ever had?
    My mother was teasing me a few years back and she asked me this question. Do ants fart? So i have to say thats the most confusing question I've ever heard. How could you even hear it?

3) What is your most prized possession and why?
   My bookcase is my most prized possesison because I am always reading books and with out it I'd have more book piles hanging around my room then I already have.

4) What is your favorite book, movie, and music artist (at least right now)?
I really don't have a favorite book but if i'd have to pick it'd be Pride and Prejuidice. My favorite movie has to be Mary Poppins. And my favorite music artist is Andrea Bocelli if you even know who that is.

Oh and in response to what Alexa said about the Harry Potter series. I'm really sad there done too. I read that last book in a day. I refuse to believe the series is over. lol.

      I don't read often but i liked the Hobbit. One of my favorite movies has to be Old School. Favorite music is very hard because i listen to alot of different things but recent bands i would say clutch.

If I could go back in time, among other things, I would like to have seen the Rumble in the Jungle, the epic match between Foreman and Ali in 1974 Zaire. Everything leading up to the fight, all the stories, the setting, and even the match, they were timeless. The significance of who were wearing the gloves, the soil the fight was fought on, the helmsman King and Seko, and the man that was Muhammad Ali; all made it the classic that it is. I would have loved to be there, part of history.
I cant come up with the most confusing question Ive ever been asked, but, one that has nagged me for a bit is the question of whether or not there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.
I dont think I have any physical possession that Im truly attached too. Not that I dont have nice stuff but, I just try not to get too wrapped up in things like that. If I were forced to choose I guess Id say some photos, books, or Yankees memorabilia.
I see it this way; whats the one piece of work that if you happened to be stranded on a deserted island, what book wouldnt you mind reading for the rest of your days? I say the Bible, Quran, and Torah, in that order. I cant choose my favorite film, much too many, but, honorable mentions: Cidade de Deus, Raging Bull, Y tu Mama Tambien, Amores Perros. Artist as the moment, The Strokes.

In the novel 1984 it was written in 1949 its all about the author's thoughts on how the furture will be. A main thing is that free thinking is frowned upon and it is brainwashed that things aren't necessarily true. Things and so called "facts" are assumed to be true because that's what big brother wants you to believe. One of the fake facts used in the book as an example was that 2+2=5
