Assignment #11: Final Exam Essay Questions


Below are all 9 of the essay questions that could be asked on the final exam on Friday, January 18th.  Of these 9 questions, I will randomly choose 4.  Of those 4 that will be on the exam, you must answer 2 fully.  Each answer must be written in essay form for 25 points each (50 points total).  I will give you the rubric for the essays as well.

1.     Throughout American history, Americans have struggled to define and expand freedom.  Many of the greatest advances came as a result of years of effort and were announced in declarations or proclamations, or were codified into law.  From the list of documents, amendments, and proclamations below, choose two (2).  For each one, explain:

In the Gettysburg Address, President Lincoln refers to the nation as having a new birth of freedom.
