i know I am not on the civil rights team since i have tennis but i thought i could kinda include myself by discussing this topic since i love talking about civil rights...etc.
The document in general is a good document that tries to deal will the problem of hate crimes, however i find it unrealistic. for example:
Name Calling: You seem really upset at something John has done or said. But instead of telling John what it was that you didn't like, you called him a word that is used to hurt people. If you tell him what you don't like, it will help John not to do it again. Name calling hurts and it doesn't solve anything.
telling someone that what he/she said isnt going to make them stop. I've had first hand experience when it comes to discrimination because of my nationality, ethnicity, and religion. Simply telling someone that what they said was hurtful won't necessarily make them stop, and once that one person says it, it can easily spread so that more and more people start to use the name too.
Also you have to consider stereotypes. by simply having discussions with those who "strengthen" those stereotypes isn't going to do much. the document hasn't really (in my opinion) brought awareness or how to solve the problem of stereotypes. Stereotypes are usually the cause of a lot of hate crimes.
All the time you hear the phrases "Girl Power!" and "Woman Unite!". People think that girls will always stick toghether, and that there is a bond between all woman. That may be trues, but not all of the time. I think that even though we all act like we have each others backs, we will distrust each and every one of our gender. I am talking about woman on woman hate crimes.
Commonly we attain confused when we finally hear the exact terms website development service in addition to internet developer getting used interchangeably. But thoughts is broken done looking over this, all your individual confusions may perhaps disappear. Poof! run 3
