The Future of Science

Essential Question: How does science impact culture?

For this assignment, I'd like you think about the connections between culture and science.  Whereas technology (as tools) influences what people can do, science (as knowledge) can influence what people can think.  Theories of science can either compliment or conflict with cultures.  Think of the theory of evolution and the Big Bang Theory and how these can conflict with Christian theology.

Today, we're going to learn more about quantum physics, the universe, space & time, health and more.  What I would like you to do as an assignment is write a small story (about two pages of fiction) about a society which uses science as the center of their culture.  It can be a science fiction story or it can take place on a different world.  The central idea in your story should be to demonstrate (through a plot) how science influences all aspects of people's lives.

Publish your stories here (70 points) and share ideas, comments, questions and more (30 points) with each other.

With the help of morphman and neon' s side kick, trinidad, They save the world by shutting down the energy source of the robots. This source is a new reactor developed by the robots and only Neon, a scientist could figure out how to shut down their power source which is done simply by flipping the switches on the robots backs.

The story opens with the horror of life for the protagonist, who apparently is the sole survivor of a bacterial plague catastrophe, the symptoms of which are like vampirism. Harry Smith gets ready for a siege night from a vampire mass. He spends the day hours repairing his abode boarding windows, hanging garlic garlands, disposing of vampire corpses, and gathering supplies. The tale is Smith's effort to understand, and perhaps cure, the illness that killed mankind, showing his study of vampirism, and its potential causes. Via flashback, Smith's history is exposed. Furthermore, his emotional struggle to manage with losing his family is dealt with by going about an every day schedule.Smith sees the devastation of the infected survivors as a right, even, to be pursued for his own and mankind's survival, yet, in the conclusion, he sees a future culture wherein infection is ordinary and he, Smith, a lethal, biologic abnormal. He then grasps that, just as vampires were myth in pre-infection times, now he, Harry Smith, is myth for the new individual race born of the infection.
