Gas Sensor Principle and Role

Gas sensors are a new type of sensor device that has a wide range of applications in our lives. So, how do gas sensors work? What role does it play in our lives?

How do gas sensors work?

A gas sensor is a device that senses various parameters such as gas composition, concentration and humidity to control the device, and is a chemical sensor in terms of device classification. A gas sensor has a probe that is specifically designed to sense and test air or gas. This probe is able to test and identify the state of the gas and convert the information received into electrical signals that are transmitted to a reaction device, which in turn controls the device in question.

Classification and role of gas sensors.

There are many different types of gas sensors and they have different characteristics and roles. The main types of gas sensors are semiconductor gas sensors, electrochemical gas sensors, catalytic combustion gas sensors, thermally conductive gas sensors, infrared gas sensors and other types.

Semiconductor gas sensors and electrochemical gas sensors use the electrical conductivity of the gas to achieve gas sensing, while thermally conductive and infrared gas sensors sense the temperature of the gas to achieve sensing. The choice of gas sensor in practice is based on the characteristics of the sensor and the environment in which it is used.

What is the role of gas sensors?

Gas sensors are mainly used in the construction of the environmental Internet of Things. Gas sensors can detect many gases, so they can detect toxic and harmful gases in the air, thus providing early warning and prevention, protecting air quality and helping to protect the environment. Gas sensors can also be used in machinery and equipment, some gas-related machinery and equipment through the joint work of gas sensors, to provide equipment efficiency, but also to avoid accidents.
