Audience Piguet Explores New High-Tech Horizons

Audience Piguet, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, opens a new chapter in the Royal Oak Concept collection with the launch of its first automatic split-seconds flyback chronograph. Inspired by the collections high-tech features, this watch takes the Royal Oak Concept collections futuristic look, ergonomics and performance to a new level. In addition to introducing a new 43mm case size and the collections first interchangeable strap, this sporty watch features a contemporary, three-dimensional titanium case full of textures, depth and light. It is driven by a new cutting-edge movement, the automatic Calibre 4407, whose complex micromechanics are located in the center of the caseback. The caseback showcases for the first time the advanced split-seconds mechanism, which is embedded in a ball bearing that holds the rotor. More than 20 years after the launch of the first Royal Oak Concept, the collection continues to provide a platform for pioneering research and development experiments.

Futuristic Case

A play of depth, finish and lightness

Aude Piguet continues to refine the Royal Oak concept, adding innovative complications that blend ergonomics with the collection's bold aesthetic. This watch required extensive R&D engineering, further pushing the team's technical expertise.

In addition to the introduction of a new 43mm case size, this titanium watch features a multi-faceted design that plays with contrast and light. The case's sophisticated construction required complex programming and manufacturing processes to strike the right balance between ergonomics and ultra-modern design. The case and bezel are slightly curved to adapt to the natural shape of the wrist, making the watch comfortable to wear despite its large size.

The sandblasted titanium inserts complement the cases angular, rounded geometry. The sandblasted case is paired with the brands signature satin-brushed octagonal bezel, whose polished chamfers accentuate its rounded contours. The combination of satin-brushed, sandblasted and polished surfaces further enhances the watchs textured look while creating an endless play of light and shadow.

The collections strong lines are further amplified in the watchs screw-down crown and pushers, all of which are made from black ceramic. Two-tone, skeletonized dial display

The skeletonized dial is designed to resemble a movement bridge, allowing a glimpse of the intricate micro-mechanics within. The circular opening is cut from a sheet of German silver, treated with sandblasted black PVD and finished with polished rhodium-toned bevels. This contrast adds depth and brightness to this sporty architectural watch, a feeling further enhanced by the absence of a logo on the dial.

White gold hands and indices, paired with white transferred numerals throughout the dial, highlight the two-tone aesthetic of this watch. In addition, the indices, hands, chronograph, large date and GMT day/night disc are all coated with luminescent material for optimal visibility in the dark. Red and yellow accents mark the chronograph and GMT functions, respectively, adding a subtle yet vivid touch of color. Flyback Chronograph

Ultra-modern inside and out, this new best replica watch is equipped for the first time with the automatic calibre 4407, a feat of mechanical and industrial engineering that combines a flyback chronograph, split-seconds, GMT function and large date into the highly stylised case design of the Royal Oak Concept collection. This is the first time that Audemars Piguet has produced such a movement in series, and it is based on the latest generation of Audemars Piguet integrated flyback chronograph movement, calibre 4401, which was launched in 2019 with the Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 collection.

Unlike a normal chronograph, the flyback function allows the wearer to reset and restart the chronograph without having to stop it first. The column wheel works in conjunction with a vertical clutch system. When the chronograph is started or stopped, the hands react accordingly without any signs of jumping. Furthermore, a patented zero-reset mechanism ensures that the chronograph and split-seconds hands return to zero instantly.

The split-seconds mechanism is able to measure intermediate time intervals thanks to the addition of a split-seconds hand that, when activated by a dedicated push-piece, stops the chronograph hand independently of the chronograph hand. When the latter is pressed again, it catches up with the running hand, which continues to run together on the dial in perfect synchronisation. This action can be repeated at will. The push-piece is positioned at 9 o'clock, a subtle nod to the Royal Oak Concept Laptimer (2015) - the first mechanical watch developed in collaboration with Michael Schumacher capable of measuring consecutive laps on a racetrack. To reduce the height of the movement, the split-seconds mechanism has been integrated within the thickness of the semi-peripheral rotor ball bearings and is now visible through the sapphire caseback, just as in pocket watches and hand-wound watches. The split-seconds wheel and the two starting bridges of an automatic watch, usually hidden from view, can now be seen at the heart of the platinum oscillating weight, beneath the X-shaped bridge that holds the mechanism.

Furthermore, this advanced timepiece includes the GMT function, which has become a signature feature of the Royal Oak Concept collection. The GMT day/night display at 3 o'clock allows instant reading of the time in a second time zone. It can be adjusted using the crown coaxial pusher at 3 o'clock (one push of the pusher sets the time forward by one hour). The GMT system is based on a disc and hand that rotate at different speeds: the hour hand completes one rotation every 12 hours, while the day/night display disc completes one rotation every 24 hours and is identifiable by its two colored zones: the white half for daytime and the black half for nighttime.

Finally, the large date at 12 o'clock enhances readability with its digital look, while being perfectly symmetrical with the small seconds counter at 6 o'clock.

Despite its high-tech features, Calibre 4407 continues to uphold the Haute Horlogerie tradition and presents elegant Haute Horlogerie finishing, including sandblasting, circular satin-finishing, circular graining and polished chamfers, all visible through the sapphire caseback. replica Franck Muller Vanguard

Avant-Garde Movement

Based on the calibre 4401, Audemars Piguets in-house chronograph movement from the Code 11.59 collection launched in 2019, the 4407 movement has been deeply redesigned to improve its energy management, making it possible to add a split-second chronograph mechanism. In addition, a new oscillator has been developed that is Breguet-wound and whose sharply curved outer ends ensure concentric development of the balance spring, thus improving accuracy.

New Style

Interchangeable Strap

This new sporty watch debuts the first interchangeable strap in the Royal Oak Concept collection. The interchangeable system is integrated directly into the case and the three-piece folding clasp, allowing the wearer to change the strap with just a quick click and release. The system also provides optimal security when worn.

The design of the new black interchangeable rubber strap blends in with the facets of the case. The bevels on the sides of the case extend onto the strap, creating a seamless transition between the two components. In addition, the strap is embellished with grey symmetrical inserts that echo the multi-dimensional two-tone aesthetic of the case and dial. The watch comes with a second all-black interchangeable rubber strap, allowing the wearer to style the watch according to their mood.
