One of the first projects we will work on in the beginning of the year will be an independent research project.  Basically, you will choose a topic in recent history (within the last 50 years or so) to study.  It can focus on war, music, sports, dance, wealth, technology, women, etc. 

One of the first assignments for you will be to choose your topic and get my feedback.  That's what you'll do here today.  In your post, explain what you'd like to learn about and why.  I'll reply back to you almost immediately with some ideas and research links.
