Today I attended this big conference with the school's GSA and I heard about the Day Of Silence. This event is a day were participating students refrain from speaking all day to mirror people victims of hate crimes whose voices weren't heard. The national day of silence is actually April 25 which happens to fall during school vacation, brcause of this many of the groups I talked to were observing this day in May. I think this would be an event our school should have because of its powerful message it sends to the school and its community. This would entail recruiting people to not talk for the whole day and well as people who would talk and explain the reason for the day. Also we would need to create awareness for the event so people can know where to sign up to participate. What is your opinion on this? Do you have any ideas?
